James McKim was the keynote at the recent One Concord event discussing the need for a City DEI Committee. McKim used the Glasbergen cartoon that illustrates the paradox of diversity – we consider ourselves individuals like no one else while at the same time considering ourselves just like everyone else, breathing the same air, and having the same color blood. He charged the group with learning how to deal with this paradox to make Concord a better community.
