Artificial intelligence is moving from experimentation into everyday work, raising practical questions about where it adds value, how teams adopt it, and who remains accountable for the results. The New Hampshire Tech Alliance’s AI Task Force, part of the NH Technology Alliance, brings together people from government, industry, academia, and the community to address responsible adoption, workforce readiness, innovation, and economic growth in the state

In this talk, James McKim, PMP, ITIL, will introduce the Task Force’s purpose and current areas of focus, then connect its work to decisions project managers face: selecting useful AI applications, preparing teams for change, and building appropriate oversight into projects. Attendees will leave with questions they can use to assess an AI initiative in their own organization.

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

• Describe the AI Task Force’s purpose and how its cross-sector work relates to New Hampshire organizations.

• Identify project opportunities and risks associated with AI adoption, including workforce readiness and responsible use.

• Apply a practical set of questions to an AI initiative: What problem are we solving? Who is affected? How will we measure value? Who will review the results?

• Identify where project managers can support safe and effective AI adoption through stakeholder engagement, change planning, and clear accountability.
